SIZE: Approx. 3.2 meters high

MEANING OF NAME: Stirton's Thunder Bird

CLASSIFICATION: Flightless Bird

The largest dromornithid, it  may have been the heaviest bird to have existed. It was 3.2 m tall and  estimated to be 500 kg.
